Kuzikus as a welcoming start or a relaxing finish – and a stop along the way for self-drive travellers
Whether you drive yourself or continue independently after an organised group tour, Kuzikus fits perfectly into your Namibia itinerary.
At the start, settle in, acclimatise and get to know the Kalahari’s ecosystem and wildlife in depth before setting off on your travels. Or unwind at the end of your tour after long drives and many visits, before returning to the airport. Group tour participants visit us independently before or after their group’s scheduled programme; the group tour itself does not make a shared stop at Kuzikus.
If you are travelling in your own hire car, you can also include Kuzikus midway through your route, rather than only at the beginning or end.
A car with high ground clearance is sufficient for the journey. The final roughly 100 km are on a sand road, following 60 km on the tarmac C23 to Dordabis. Camping on the grounds is not possible. Just around 2.5 hours’ drive from Hosea Kutako Airport, Kuzikus is easy to fit into an existing route. Full directions and a distance table are available on the getting here page.
Your group tour does not come directly to Kuzikus. You plan your individual stay before or after the shared itinerary separately, independently of your group. We will be happy to agree directly with you whether to add one or several days, according to the time you have.
