Contribute directly to protecting black rhinos and the Kalahari
By visiting Kuzikus, you already actively support the survival of black rhinos and the fragile Kalahari ecosystem. If you would like to help further, or without staying with us, you can do so directly through a donation or sponsorship.
The Kuzikus Tree Project lets you sponsor an individual, mapped camel thorn tree (Vachellia erioloba) in the private Kuzikus Wildlife Reserve in Namibia’s Kalahari. Alongside the black rhino, it is the reserve’s second umbrella species.
This is an existing scheme that you can join directly through our website. Find out more about the camel thorn tree’s role in conservation and the background to the project on the conservation projects page.
Your general donation directly benefits the black rhino conservation project and conservation work at Kuzikus as a whole. It is handled through our partner association in Germany, Aktionsgemeinschaft Artenschutz (AGA). Through AGA, you can specifically support Kuzikus conservation projects; your donation goes directly to the association, and a donation receipt is available on request.
Donations benefit not only rhino conservation but also research directly, as well as environmental education for Namibian school groups discovering the natural world of their own country at Kuzikus. Support the educational visit of an entire school class to Kuzikus with €9,000.
